Every gamer has a common dream of having a room full of their favourite games at some point in their life. Imagine you are one of those people who have the resources to make it happen. But do you know how to do it? What are all things required? What points are to be taken care of? No, right? Don’t worry, and I am here to help you with the same. I will be making you aware of all the factors that are to be taken care of while designing your own game room.
The Purpose of a Game Room
For some people, the smart game room will be at the top of their hobby list. It will be a place where they will show their collection of games collected over the years. For others, it may be just a room, but for gamers, it will be a dream come true. It will be a dual-purpose room; it will be room to display things and retreat themselves.
There are some people who use the room to recreate their childhood favourite arcade. Arcade is played by everyone in their childhood, and frankly, it is one of my favourite still. Whatever is the reason of yours to build a game room, just keep in mind the main purpose and move forward with it. That will only decide the things you need to make the room a reality.
Lighting and its Consequences
An essential component of the ultimate smart game room will obviously be light. Whether you pursue to focus on a particular screen or you wish to capture the environment of a mid 80’s arcade, the colour and brightness of light-matter a lot.
Lighting brings the feel to the room. Even when you go somewhere out to chill with your friends, you also get impressed by the lighting there. You feel the vibe of the place due to its lighting.
Opt for the lights depending on your budget. You can also choose the light which is expensive and which has many features. Choosing light is totally your choice.
If you wish to buy lights without getting bankrupt, a standard LED light strip will be helpful. These strips have to stick at the backside, making it easy to stick to the under the bracket. Just fix the lights and attach the strip on the side, but it will not be a smart light there.
The Ultimate Gaming PC Setup
If you plan to build your Gaming Room and don’t have a Beast Gaming PC, everything is spoiled, don’t call your room a gaming room if you cannot play the latest games on it.
A Gaming PC with the latest Operating System like Windows 10 installed on it with the latest Graphics card will allow you to play the latest games at the highest quality, and that’s the job of gaming at a different level.
And if you hate building a Gaming PC, you can buy a branded gaming PC from brands like ASUS, GIGABYTE, etc., and if you like console gaming the go for the latest version of Play Station or Microsoft XBOX 360.
Tools and Equipment
If the main focus of you designing the room is purely entertainment, you should buy a TV accordingly. Like in this case, the TV should have all the preferences. But when you have to select a TV, it will be based on your personal preference.
You wish for a TV with low-input lag, HDR, and excellent picture quality, preferably an OLED. Remember that a TV with the kind of high-end specs you are looking for can be a little expensive, but there is a possibility to find sets that are more budget-friendly and which will fit your budget as well.
Unless you wish to keep an old CRT TV around for classic gaming, you will need an upscale to make your earlier keypad work on this modern television. Many old keypads were designed to output a signal that new TVs can not acknowledge. Even if you get them to work, there is remarkable ghosting.
An upscale is used to fix resolution problem and make games like SUPER KART MARIO look fabulous on a 75″ OLED TV.
Along with the great picture, you would also wish for good sound quality. You can achieve it with a traditional surround sound system. But many soundbars will provide the same quality but at half price. So while purchasing the Sound System, you should search for the right product.
You should know how to control it. The efforts will be a total waste of time if you do not know how to control yourself. You can select between Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa but make sure that your purchase and other frills are easy to connect.
For instance, you may need smart plugs to control other supplement. If you want to make sure the entire room is wired up but you want to save money on LED light strips, an inexpensive smart plug can take the place of the smart strip. Just give the smart plugs a specific, memorable name, and you can ask Alexa or Google to turn them all on at once.
A smart plug may also provide you with management over accessories like streaming lights while not obtaining up. If you opt to own an associate impromptu streaming session on Twitch one evening, simply raise Alexa to show on the stream lights and dive right in.
Again, the sensible accessories you would like are obsessed with what recreation room concepts you implement. Take the time to arrange out last time and leave space in your budget.
The most frustrating part of any room setup is arranging them. A simple packet of cable ties can go a long way towards wrangling loose cables and keeping the room from becoming chaotic. If you are going to run a cable through the wall or along the floor, consider investing in a cable raceway.
A cable raceway will hide the cables behind a simple plastic piece that is painted according to your wish and according to your room. It is an easy way to make the room look clean and to add vibes to space. If you are renovating the space in your own house and not in a rental house, you can conceal the wires in the wall itself.
You will also need some shelving units for storage. Make sure the units are smooth and well-built to support the weight of all the things. You don’t want your personal belongings to break because if the shelves are not made correctly, it can break, and all the items can be damaged.
The dream of the ultimate smart game room is different for everyone.
Organize Your Game Room
There is one fundamental design principle to keep in mind when it comes to planning a game room. The game room should be designed around the largest game or two, which serve as the primary focus. The photo here shows that the pool table is in between the room and draws attention. A wall hanging is beside the desk, with lighting fixtures above the desk.
Everything in this space should be arranged out from the largest game in the room. The focal point might be a big-screen television for other game styles, if the room is a video game, or you can set pinball machines along the wall.
Everything within the area is organized out from the most important game within the room. The concentration may be a big-screen TV for different game designs if it’s a game area or a collection of game machines on the wall.
Pick a Theme
Another thing to keep in mind is picking a design theme. Some game rooms are simple, have the tables like a pool table with some things to decorate the space. However, other game spaces work with a full decorative concept, right from the raw stuff.
For sample, I am inserting an image here, where the table of foosball is a component of the chosen theme.
Based on the games you choose, you can do many things with your space. You can decorate the room with the help of video games or pinball machines if you want a classic arcade theme, with posters that have old games. You can also take the help of rich texture of elegant lighting features if you need the theme of a classic billiard room. I have just given some examples, but your room should be decorated totally according to you.
I hope my ideas turned out to be helpful for you, and my blog will help you make the right choice while designing the room.
